Available now, only at Tahona Mercado!

TASTING NOTES:
Aromas of banana cream and brown sugar. Taste is earthy with a slight hint of green pepper. It exhibits José's classic soft & lactic mezcal sweetness along with hints of peanuts on the finish (a classic karwinskii note).

This small batch of Madrecuishe mezcal was made back in April 2024. José Manuel harvested the wild Madrecuishe (agave karwinskii) locally in his hometown of San Dionisio Ocotepec on a very hot and hilly part of the mountainside.
These agaves were harvested at maturity after more than 12 years of growth!
As these agaves grow in the mountain terrain, the area is inaccessible to all cars. After the agaves were harvested by José and his team, they were transported using donkeys from the field down to the highway and then to the palenque by truck.
The finished mezcal ended up at 48% ABV (adjusted using colas) and has been resting for the past year before being bottled and shipped to the US in October of 2025.
We hope you enjoy this mezcal as much as we do - it's honestly a great addition to the ever-growing FYH line-up!
