Aromas of sweet earthiness & hints of cacao. These notes carry through the taste while welcoming butter, malt candy & pecans all wrapped around soft smokiness. Lingering lime citrus on the finish. 48% ABV without the heat.
Stories from the Palenque
Local custom says that after the land is prepared and the baby espadín magueyitos (baby agave pups) are cleaned and ready for planting, a female turkey must be sacrificed.
The turkey blood is used to water the very first magueyito that is planted. This ensures the agave will generate future magueyitos, and therefore guarantee future crops.
After using the blood of the turkey, the meat is used to prepare a delicious creole turkey broth. This is shared in the field before starting to sow the remaining baby espadín plants.
